The acclaimed Dante Quartet has teamed up with clarinettist Robert Plane for a Northern tour. Robert’s exquisite tone will be thrilling in the magnificent Brahms quintet. Other items in the programme are a clarinet quintet by Coleridge Taylor and Dvorak’s popular “American” String Quartet.

A rare opportunity to hear “On Wenlock Edge”, Vaughan Williams’ setting of poems by A E Houseman. Lyric tenor James Gilchrist has had a starry career since taking up full-time singing in 1999. He performs and records regularly with Anna Tilbrook. English songs and the Elgar Piano Quintet complete this celebration of the best of English Music. With the Puertas String Quarter.

Lynda Coffin, Sarah Watts and Laurence Perkins recently formed Cuillin Sound to explore the repertoire for flute, clarinet (or bass clarinet), and bassoon. Their delightfully varied programme stretches from Bach to a Villa-Lobos Brasileiras and includes music which they have arranged for this unusual and appealing combination.

A child prodigy at 12 when he became the BBC Young Musician of the Year, Benjamin Grosvenor has continued to thrill and amaze audiences with his mastery of the keyboard and his mature interpretation of piano repertoire. A programme of music by Bach, Chopin, Scriabin and Granados will show both the poetry and brilliance of his technique.
