Wu String Quartet
The young Wu Quartet has received international prizes and accolades as well as national awards. The musicians are praised for the tireless energy and enthusiasm that they bring to their performances as well as for their technical brilliance.

Renaissance at Christmas
Looking forward to the festive season, Renaissance presents sacred and secular seasonal music from the Tudor period to the present day. Born and educated in Hexham, Ben Rowarth founded the choir while studying music at Durham and continues to conduct the group as their reputation grows.

Zsolt-Tihamer Visontay (violin) with Min-Jung Kym (piano)
Zsolt’s position as Joint Concert Master of the Philharmonia Orchestra gives him time to develop his international solo career and he is widely regarded as one of Europe’s rising stars. He has been giving recitals with Min-Jung Kym since 2007. They will perform sonatas by Sibelius, Beethoven and Franck.

Dante String Quartet
The Dante Quartet is one of this country’s finest ensembles, famed for innovative programming and convincing performance. They have been quartet-in-residence at King’s College, Cambridge since 2007.

Piano Duo: Sarah Beth Briggs with James Lisney
Sarah Beth Briggs has played solo recitals and chamber music for the Society. James Lisney accompanied Emma Kirkby so the opportunity to hear two fine musicians in their new duo partnership was not to be missed. Their programme includes the two Schubert Fantasies as well as Debussy’s Petite Suite.

Gould Piano Trio
The Gould Piano Trio: Lucy Gould, Alice Nearyand Ben Frith are favourites in the region because of the Corbridge Festival. Members will enjoy hearing two of the finest works of the Piano Trio repertoire as well as a delightful work by Hummel.
